The role focuses on revenue mobilization and administration within the Nairobi City County Revenue Authority.

Requirements

To be considered for the position, applicants should have:

A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, ICT, Administration or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
A Master’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, ICT or Business Administration is an added advantage.
At least 5 years of relevant work experience, including 3 years at senior management level in revenue mobilization in either the public or private sector.
A Senior Management Course lasting at least four weeks from a recognized institution.
Experience in public-sector accounting.
Knowledge of the Nairobi City County Revenue Administration Act, 2021, Public Finance Management Act, 2012 and County Governments Act, 2012.
Proficiency in computer applications and revenue management systems.
Strong leadership, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage teams.
Compliance with the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicants will be involved in revenue mobilization and administration functions, including:

Coordinating and preparing revenue-related reports.
Supporting public participation activities relating to revenue mobilization.
Designing and developing revenue administration systems, policies and procedures.
Implementing internal controls for revenue mobilization and enhancement.
Identifying, expanding and managing revenue streams.
Supervising, training and developing revenue staff.
Identifying potential new revenue streams.
Ensuring revenue collection systems are efficient, effective and secure.
Monitoring revenue collection and receipting.
Conducting surveys to assess the feasibility of revenue collection.
Supporting revenue analysis and advising on revenue collection.
Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
