UNICEF is inviting applications for a MHPSS Design & Development Consultant under its Global Programme Division – Mental Health.

The consultancy is based in Nairobi, Kenya, with a remote working arrangement and is planned to run from 15 November 2026 to 14 November 2027.

About the Opportunity

The consultant will support UNICEF’s work on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), including the development of a UNICEF-WHO Child and Adolescent Mental Health accountability mechanism.

The assignment will focus on designing and developing the accountability prototype, supporting its launch and optimization, and providing ongoing technical support for related MHPSS digital products.

Minimum Requirements

According to UNICEF, candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, User Design, Graphic/Product Design or a related discipline, or relevant experience in these areas.

The role also requires experience in areas including:

UX/UI design
Functional and technical requirements gathering
Information architecture and UX design
Drupal development and theming
Responsive website development
Web accessibility standards
Multilingual website development
Git-based repositories
Agile methodologies
Automated testing and quality assurance
Continuous integration
Drupal hosting solutions

Experience with UNICEF, WHO or another UN organisation is listed as desirable. Knowledge of French, Spanish or Arabic is also an advantage.
