About the Job
The Finance Assistant will support the Senior Finance Officer and the wider Finance team in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring effective financial management.
The successful candidate will work on areas such as:
- Recording and accruing transactions in the ERP system
- Managing and reconciling vendor accounts
- Preparing bank reconciliation statements
- Preparing other account reconciliations
- Supporting monthly accounts closure
- Assisting with institutional and project audits
- Maintaining relationships with service providers
- Supporting accurate financial reporting and controls
Qualifications and Experience
According to AECF, applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Commerce, Finance or a related field
- Professional finance qualifications such as CPA or ACCA
- Membership in a relevant professional body
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience managing finances of a large international non-profit organisation
- Experience working with international development donors
- Experience working in an ERP environment
- Strong advanced Excel skills
- Fluency in English
Knowledge of additional languages such as French is an advantage.
