Key Responsibilities
The Project Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring humanitarian Cash and Markets activities.
Duties include:
- Supporting humanitarian cash-transfer and food-assistance programmes.
- Coordinating beneficiary identification, targeting and registration.
- Conducting market assessments and monitoring market prices.
- Training staff, community members and partners on cash and voucher programming.
- Working with county government departments, community structures and implementing partners.
- Supporting programme monitoring, evaluation, accountability and reporting.
- Monitoring budgets and ensuring resources are used appropriately.
- Maintaining records, documenting lessons and preparing periodic reports.
- Supporting digital beneficiary registration, cash distribution and monitoring systems.
- Building the capacity of community structures and project staff.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics or a related field.
- At least three years of practical experience in Cash and Voucher-Based Programming.
- Experience in market-price monitoring, beneficiary targeting and registration, and cash-for-work or cash-for-assets interventions in emergency settings.
- Experience working with Mobile Network Operators and Financial Service Providers.
- Knowledge of programme monitoring, evaluation and accountability systems.
- Strong written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
- Good communication, analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel within and outside the assigned counties.
Postgraduate training in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Agriculture or a related area is an added advantage.
Previous experience in cash and food assistance is also desirable.
