About the Job

The successful candidate will support World Vision’s financial operations by maintaining accurate accounting records, processing payments, managing financial reconciliations and ensuring compliance with relevant financial procedures and statutory obligations.

Key Responsibilities

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for:

• Processing supplier and vendor invoices and payments.
• Checking invoices against purchase orders and supporting documentation.
• Preparing payroll journal entries and supporting payroll processing.
• Processing staff advances, expense reimbursements and related reconciliations.
• Preparing statutory payments and returns, including PAYE, VAT and withholding tax.
• Reconciling supplier, employee, payroll and other balance-sheet accounts.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Supporting audit processes and maintaining effective internal controls.
• Managing filing systems and ensuring financial records remain secure and accessible.

Academic and Professional Qualifications

Applicants should have:

• A bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• A Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K) qualification.
• At least five years of relevant professional experience.

Relevant experience should cover accounts payable management, financial reporting, tax administration, internal controls, audit support and supplier relationship management.

Additional Skills Required

Candidates should also demonstrate:

• Experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong financial analysis and reconciliation skills.
• Knowledge of statutory tax and payroll processes.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

Experience with SunSystems accounting software is an added advantage.
